Okay, yes, I’ve recently developed a love affair with SQL. But I think it goes beyond that – I think it’s about the data, and the databases.

For several months now, I’ve been getting trickles of information regarding the NoSql Movement – but most of what I find is vague at best. Even the Wikipedia article’s opening statement for it needs citation. It states “NoSQL is a database movement which began in early to mid 2009. The term refers to non-relational data stores that do not need a fixed schema, and that usually avoid join operations.

For the reader, it’s not much to go on, I know, but now you’ve heard of the NoSql Movement. I’m going to see what I can find and write a few more posts on it. If you’re too anxious to wait for posts, feel free to go hunting on your own – please let us know what you find!
